Upon opening the very ordinary packaging you are confronted with an excellent looking laptop which oozies quality. Once switched on, startup is very quick, the screen is sharp and bright with Toshiba`s own programs.
Keyboard is well laid out with additional function keys and numeric keypad. The actual "feel" of the keys is great for me with none of the complaints made about other manufacturers as to "squelchy" keys. Hooking up to the internet was a cinch and only took a few seconds, both wireless and cable.
Have been using this laptop for four weeks now and my initial impressions have not altered, fast computer with excellent memory and easy to use.
This computer comes highly recommended and, at this price, it`s a "Best Buy".
Great replacement for a desk top July 27, 2010

We were looking for a replacement for our ageing desk top. This was recommended by a friend, and noone else which put me off but don't let it. It is criticised for its design and keyboard, both seem very acceptable for me. I love it, it is fast, looks great, has a massive screen plus dvd/cd rewriter all good stuff. I love it, great price too thanks to amazon!

Toshiba laptops are known for being reliable and not breaking down, I have previously owned two Sony's and a Dell all of which have broken within 18 months of receiving them so reliability is important to me. Boots up very quickly and automatically connects to home WI-FI network, has lots of USB ports and a large keyboard, as well as a video connector for attaching to a TV or monitor. Runs most applications faster than a desktop, battery life is about three hours. Most people are trading down to smaller screen sizes but I prefer the bigger 17in model.
I would recommend this model as it is cheap and reliable and has a good quality LCD screen.

I'm 15 years old and got this laptop as a christmas present,
its great, quick to load up, good processor and great for everyday tasks. i do alot of video editing and it works fine
no delay. The only thing that is annoying is a bad key placement on the keyboard. also i gotit for £450 of staples and it came with microsoft office.
overall a great laptop for all the things
